Largs Bowling Club has various categories of membership designed to cater for a variety of needs and provide coaching and development opportunities for new and existing members alike.


Regardless of the membership category you choose, coaching is available every Saturday morning from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon from a number of our members who are qualified coaches.


There is a mixed bounce game every weekday morning at 10.00 am., plus an aggregate game on Wednesday evenings at 7.00 p.m, the aggregate competition (also referred to as Wappenshaws) are open to all categories of member. These are a great way to get to know people and develop your bowling in a fun friendly atmosphere.


Ladies Days take place throughout the season Monday and Friday afternoons starting at 2.00 pm. During the winter Ladies carpet bowls are held at 10.00 am Tuesday mornings, and mixed on Friday evenings at 7.00 pm. The gents play an aggregate on Friday evenings throughout the summer at 7.00 p.m. (when no Parish League matches are scheduled).








Ordinary membership applies to those of 18 years and over who have experience of outdoor bowling and entitles you to participate in all internal and external competition as well as bounce and fun games – the cost is £120 per annum, pro rata if you join later in the season. Ordinary Members have voting rights.





New Start membership is a once in a lifetime, one year only membership entitling you to take part in bounce games and fun days, designed to provide a welcoming experience and opportunity to find out all about the Club. At the end of the year New Start Members will automatically be offered the opportunity to become an Ordinary Member.


The cost of new Start membership is £30 for the year, which entitles you to play in bounce games, wappenshaws, the ladies and gents aggregate competitions and some of the one day friendly matches.

New Start Members have voting rights.




Junior Membership is available to those under 18 years of age at the date of Opening Day. It entitles you to play in in bounce games, wappenshaws, the ladies and gents aggregate competitions and some of the one day friendly matches. You may also be able to represent the Club in external junior competition from time to time.

Junior Members have no voting rights.




Student membership is available to those over 18 years and over who are in full time education.

Student Members have no voting rights.




Associate membership is a non-playing membership which provides for those wishing to be involved in the operations of the Club enjoy all of the social benefits. Associate members may play up to three times a year as guests of full members at no cost. Associate members have voting rights.




You can apply by emailing simply request further information, following which the Secretary will contact you to discuss your requirements and provide an application form.


Following application approval, all new members are invited to an Induction meeting with some of the Committee where we will provide further information, keys to the Clubhouse, and allocate a locker.


Our main form or communication is by email and if you have an email address please include this on your application form so you can be added to the circulation list. All significant notifications are also posted on the Notice Board at the Clubhouse.
